Volga Research and Education Center for Supercomputing Technologies forms part of the national system of research and education centers for supercomputing technologies established in Russia in 2011 and 2012 within the project of the Commission for Modernization and Technological Development of Russia’s Economy under the President of the Russian Federation.
The Center is one of the key divisions of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod focused on training and research activities in supercomputing technologies and high performance computing.
The Center has all facilities required for such activities ranging from a supercomputing cluster with the peak performance of 570 Tflops to personal mini-clusters and desktop supercomputers offered by leading IT companies (Intel, AMD, IBM, NVidia, SuperMicro, Т-Platforms, Niagara).
The academic staff mostly consists of the members of Models and Methods of Parallel Computing for Multiprocessor Systems, the Prof. R.G.Strongin’s leading scientific school created as part of the national support program for leading scientific schools of Russia.
