The UNN HPC Center works in close cooperation with leading Russian and international research and education centers. The Center is getting more and more involved in cooperation with leading IT companies. Its operating results are widely recognized both in Russia and abroad. The Center is involved in various forms of cooperation with international colleagues from Germany, USA, Italy and Switzerland, which include joint international scientific projects, internship of Supercomputer Center staff, lectures of Russian and international scientists in UNN on the challenges of HPC in education, science and industry.
One of the key areas of the Center’s activities is its work as part of the HPC Consortium of Russian Universities that coordinates effort of Russian educational and scientific institutions to create a nation-wide system of HPC education. The Consortium was established in 2008, and currently includes 42 Russian universities and 16 associated members.
Cooperation with the leading IT-companies including Intel, Microsoft, IBM, NVidia, Supermicro, T-Platforms, Niagara, etc. is one of the main areas of the Supercomputer Center. The Information Technologies Laboratory (ITLab), an innovative form of UNN cooperation with IT companies created with the assistance of Intel, has existed for more than 10 years now. The High-Performance Computing Competence Center supported by Microsoft is also in successful operation. In 2011, the first NVIDIA Research Center was opened in Russia. Together with the IT department, the HPC Center supports IBM’s Linux Competency Center in Moscow.
